MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Kennesaw State men’s golf finished seventh at the Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate.
“Solid way to kick off the season for our group in Myrtle Beach,” head coach Bryant Odom said. “The guys played steady all week, and five of the six had a round under par. I am proud of how we finished today. Our lowest team score came in the final round when the course was playing the toughest.
“Big credit to Walker Gantt in his first college start, fighting back from a rough opening with birdies on the last three holes to notch a top-20 finish. Quick turnaround now as we get ready for the Poston Invitational. The energy is good in the group, and we’re looking forward to heading back to Waynesville, where we were in the mix last year.”
The final round of the tournament took place Tuesday.
Kennesaw State carded a 2-under-par 286 for a 54-hole total of 862, finishing 2 under overall.
Freshman Walker Gantt was KSU’s top finisher. He posted a 1-over 73 in the final round and tied for 16th at 3-under 213. Gantt birdied his final three holes Tuesday and finished the event with 14 birdies and 30 pars.
Kyle Bachkosky tied for 20th at 2-under 214 after carding an even-par 72.
Luca Gallingani recorded the Owls’ low round of the day with a 2-under 70, finishing tied for 33rd at 1-over 217.

Josh Ledford carded a 76 and tied for 79th at 13-over 229.
