PGA Tour pioneers a new era in golf viewing with “PGA TOUR Vision,” an immersive spatial computing app for Apple Vision Pro.

The PGA Tour has unveiled the groundbreaking “PGA TOUR Vision,” a spatial computing app tailored for the Apple Vision Pro headset. Developed by Quintar, the app leverages the tour’s investments in technology, merging cloud infrastructure and live shot tracking data to deliver an unparalleled viewing experience.
Through 2D windows showcasing real-time data and video highlights, combined with 3D-rendered models from live course data, the idea is for fans to immerse themselves in the heart of the action, feeling as though they are right on the course.

PGA TOUR Vision made its debut during the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, featuring the iconic par three seventh hole. The app plans to expand coverage, adding more holes each week and aiming for complete 18-hole coverage by The Players Championship.
Offering modules for leaderboards, scorecards, shot metrics, and live coverage time will tell how much traction this sort of technology will get, not just for golf but sports in general. Priced at around $7000 per headset, it may take some time.
