ATLANTA, Ga. – The Women’s Golf Coaches Association has released this year’s list of All-America Scholars, which included Oglethorpe’s Elizabeth Powell and Sophia Morettini.
All-America Scholar is one of the most prestigious academic awards for a college athlete to earn, as it requires a GPA of 3.50 or higher. Additionally, the student-athlete is required to have competed in at least 50% of the team’s scheduled competitive rounds.
This was Powell’s second WGCA All-America nod, and the rising junior was also named to the all-conference second team this season. This was Morretini’s first time receiving the award, and both players consistently finished out front for the Petrels.
