Rahm, one of golf’s most recognisable figures, views the South African stop as one of the most exciting additions to the LIV Golf calendar, highlighting the opportunity to experience new destinations and cultures through the global tour.

Jon Rahm said: “I’m excited. I’ve never been before, and that’s one of the aspects of LIV Golf that I really love. I’ve always enjoyed travelling and feel very privileged to be able to visit new cities and new places. One of my biggest surprises recently was how much I enjoyed Hong Kong, so I’m really looking forward to experiencing South Africa as well.”

Rahm also expects South African fans to bring a unique energy to the tournament, drawing on the country’s deep sporting culture.

“South Africans are incredibly passionate about sport especially rugby and cricket but they’re no strangers to golf either. I think it’s going to be a lot of fun. Hopefully we’re battling against the home players towards the end, because that will make for a very special atmosphere and a great crowd.”

The Spaniard heads into the next stops in strong form after finishing runner-up at LIV Golf Adelaide, where record crowds once again highlighted the growing global appeal of the league.

Before LIV Golf makes its historic debut in South Africa, the league continues its Asian swing with upcoming events in Hong Kong and Singapore, setting the stage for the tour’s long-awaited arrival on African soil.

South Africa’s rich sporting culture and proud golfing heritage are set to take centre stage when LIV Golf arrives, bringing global stars together alongside home favourites in front of passionate local crowds.
