2011 Masters champion Charl Schwartzel has placed renewed focus on his physical preparation, working to extend his longevity at the highest level.
The South African battled through severe back pains during the recent LIV Golf debut in South Africa.
He has worked hard at preparing his body in order to prolong his playing career.
On his approach, he said: “As you get older, you realise that if you want to compete with the younger guys, you have to step it up. If you don’t look after your body, you fall behind quickly.
“It came down to a decision, either you let it go, or you put in the work and give yourself more years to compete at the highest level.
“For me, it was about making that commitment, and the results are starting to show.”
Schwartzel also showed solid form at Augusta last year, making the cut for the fifth time in six years and finishing tied for 36th at the 2025 Masters Tournament.
The Masters at Augusta National takes place from 9-12 April.
