Former rugby league star Mat Rogers achieved a golfing milestone with his first hole-in-one at The Glades Golf Club on the Gold Coast.
Known for his strong golf game during his rugby league career, Rogers now boasts a scratch handicap. His ace came on the par-3 5th hole with a perfectly struck 7-iron.
Rogers, who was a superstar for the Cronulla Sharks and the Gold Coast Titans, as well as a dual international in rugby union, has been close to a hole-in-one on numerous occasions. However, it was his precise shot on the 5th hole at The Glades that finally secured the elusive ace.
It was very nearly two consecutive perfect holes. We’re told that Rogers lipped out for an eagle on the very next hole, the par-5 6th hole.
