Aldrich Potgieter is the lone South Africa in the FedExCup playoffs but has a huge task if he wants to progress past this week.
The top 70 players in the FedEx Cup standings qualified for this season’s playoffs. But only 69 players will tee it up in the opening event.
As confirmed by the PGA Tour, four-time winner Daniel Berger isn’t in the field for this week’s FedEx St Jude Championship at TPC Southwind. He finished the season in 60th.
Only one South African is … Potgieter and he starts in 67th place.
It means the big-hitting South African must finish better than a three-way share of seventh place if he wants to play next week’s BMW Championship at Bellerive Golf Course.
