How South Africa’s large overseas contingent performed over the past week.
Charles Schwab Challenge (PGA Tour)
Christiaan Bezuidenhout shared 15th place on three-under-par after shooting 68-68-69-72. He was six shots behind Americans Scottie Scheffler and Sam Burns, with the latter winning the playoff after a birdie on the first extra hole.
Dylan Frittelli finished on one-over (T35), while Erik van Rooyen and Garrick Higgo missed the cut.
Dutch Open (DP World Tour)
JC Ritchie was the best-placed South African, finishing tied for 24th on three-under – 10 strokes behind winner Victor Perez. The Frenchman beat New Zealand Ryan Fox in the playoff.
Darren Fichardt ended on one-under (T37), Daniel van Tonder three-over (T47) and Hennie du Plessis four-over (T56).
Wilco Nienaber, Dean Burmester, Haydn Porteous, George Coetzee, Thriston Larence, Brandon Stone, Justin Walters, Oliver Bekker and Zander Lombard all missed the cut.
Farmfoods Scottish Challenge (Challenge Tour)
Bryce Easton ended on three-over-par with a share of 49th in a tournament that was won by Spain’s Javier Sainz after a playoff against Switzerland’s Jeremy Freiburghaus. The two were 11-under after 72 holes.
Luke Jerling ended on eight-over (65th) while Ruan Conradie missed the cut.
Gateway to The Open Mizuno Open (Japan Golf Tour)
Jbe’ Kruger tied for 10th after finishing on six-under – six shots behind Zimbabwe’s Scott Vincent and Australia’s Anthony Quayle.
Vincent, who trailed by seven at the start of the final round, beat Quayle in the second extra hole of the playoff.
KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship (Senior Major)
Ernie Els shared 14th place in the second senior Major championship of the season on six-under-par after rounds of 67-70-70-71 – 10 shots behind New Zealand’s Steven Alker, who won his first senior Major.
Retief Goosen ended on two-under (T33), James Kingston two-over (T43) and David Frost four-over (T55).
Mithra Ladies Belgian Open (Ladies European Tour)
Lee-Anne Pace‘s four-under-par gave her a share of 14th position. She finished 11 strokes behind the winner, Sweden’s Linn Grant.
Lejan Lewthwaite and Stacy Bregman both ended on two-under-par (T29).
Bank of Hope LPGA Match-Play (LPGA Tour)
Paula Reto suffered a 2&1 defeat to Japan’s Ayaka Furue in the quarter-finals.
Ashleigh Buhai did not escape the group stage.
