Southern Guards’ Dean Burmester produced another impressive performance on the LIV Golf stage, finishing fourth at LIV Golf Virginia following a consistent week at Trump National Golf Club in Washington D.C.
Burmester remained firmly in contention throughout the tournament, continuing his strong run of form during a season in which Southern Guards GC have already secured multiple podium finishes as a team.
Reflecting on the week, Burmester was pleased with both his performance and the venue.
“It’s a great golf course. Obviously, I’m happy to finish with another top 10 and another top 5,” said Burmester.
“There’s a little disappointment with the finish, but life goes on.”
He also broke down the strengths in his game across the week: “I had my moments with both the ball striking and the putting. When I needed to save par, I did. There were a lot of birdies and eagles too, I had four eagles for the week, which is always a nice bonus.”
SNYMAN WINS
And in Asia, Ian Snyman claimed a two-shot victory in the Taiwan Glass Taifong Open on 15 under par.
“This is crazy. Two months ago, I was in the shower, and I was thinking, ‘Will I ever win again?’ You work hard and you run out of ideas about what to do and what to change. And here I am today, and we have managed to do it,” Snyman said.
Fellow South African Jbe Kruger finished tied ninth.
BEZUIDENHOUT PLAYS WELL
Christiaan Bezuidenhout finished in a share of sixth place at the Myrtle Beach Classic which was won by Brandt Snedeker.
The South African was inside the top 10 throughout the week and closed with a solid -3 on Sunday. Compatriots Erik van Rooyen and Casey Jarvis were in the bunch tied for 38th while Christo Lamprecht finished T60.
