KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State men’s golfer Shaun Cook was named Conference USA Co-Golfer of the Week on Wednesday following a record-tying performance at the J.T. Poston Invitational.
Cook fired rounds of 68-67-69 for a 6-under-par total of 204, tying the program’s 54-hole record on a par-70 course. His consistent play helped him top competitors from Southern Miss, Western Carolina, Virginia Tech, Elon, James Madison and others in a competitive field.
Over the three rounds, Cook recorded 29 pars, 13 birdies and two eagles in the event. He played to a 3.06 scoring average on par 3’s, 3.92 on par 4’s and 4.58 on par 5’s. His performance helped lead the team to a second-place finish in which they broke the team 18 and 54-hole scoring records on a par-70 course. This is his first weekly honor from the league this season.
He shares the weekly honor with Arsit Areephun of Deleware.
