I gotta admit, I love limited edition collaborations. I may never buy one, but man are they cool to look at.
This new one, the second golf bag collab between Sun Mountain and Marucci Baseball, is a line drive into the gap and is, at the very least, a stand-up triple.
The new bag is part of the Sun Mountain x Marucci Western Collection. It’s not that elaborate of a collection, really, featuring only the bag and a pretty snappy matching driver headcover. But there’s something undeniably cool about a golf bag made with baseball glove leather, suede fringe, embroidered accents and cowboy artwork.

Sun Mountain x Marucci Western Collection: Cowboy Up
As a Red Sox fan, Cowboy Up has a special meaning. That was the mantra of the 2003 BoSox. Whenever the chips were down, the Sawx would channel their inner cowboy spirit. That Sox team flamed out in the ’03 ALCS (damn you, Aaron-bleeping-Boone). But it did set the stage for the single greatest October of my life a year later.
So yeah, I’m digging Sun Mountain’s cowboy vibe.
The Sun Mountain x Marucci limited edition stand bag is made from cowhide suede leather and 12 oz waxed canvas. It’s inspired by Marucci’s Nightshift: Cowboy baseball glove.
“Marucci has built a great brand around craftsmanship and performance, and the Nightshift: Cowboy glove gave us a really distinctive starting point,” says Sun Mountain Marketing and Brand Strategy Director Grant Lordan. “We were able to bring that Western character into a golf bag that delivers the quality, functionality and performance people expect from Sun Mountain.”
Don’t fence me in…
The Sun Mountain x Marucci Western stand bag is built on the platform of other Sun Mountain limited edition bags, including its previous collab with Marucci. It features 11 pockets, including two fur-lined magnetic pockets for valuables and your rangefinder. There’s an 8.5-inch, four-way top with full length dividers, a lined water bottle compartment and Sun Mountain’s Dual Strap System. The entire bag clocks in a 7.5 pounds, so it’s more for looking at than carrying.
The headcover is made from the same cowhide suede leather and waxed canvas as the bag. It’s fur-lined with a suede fringe, contrast stitching and plenty of cowboy artwork. Makes you want to get you back in the saddle again, doesn’t it, pardner?
This is one of the more limited Limited Edition collabs we’ve seen. Only 50 bags and 50 headcovers are being made, so if you want one you better move fast.
The bag retails for $1,000, while the headcovers are a relative bargain at $125.
