The Finnish direct-to-consumer brand Takomo is taking yet another step in its journey to full-line status.
The company is launching the all-new Takomo Stand Bag 02 on its website this week. The name would lead you to believe it’s the second bag Takomo has ever released. That would be an incorrect assumption on your part (as it was mine).
It’s actually the third.
Okay, this one requires some explanation.
Takomo Stand Bag 02 is actually bag #3
Takomo is nothing if not ambitious. While that can lead to the occasional misstep, it does give Takomo its own unique vibe. The new Stand Bag 02 is a prime example.
As mentioned, Stand Bag 02 is actually Takomo bag number three. The company’s first bag, called the “Pikku,” dates back to its early days in 2022. Pikku is Finnish for “small,” which fits as the Pikku bag was a minimalist pencil bag.
Takomo’s next bag, launched in mid-2024, was called Stand Bag 01. It also featured Takomo’s signature “Scandinavian minimalist” design, crafted from premium synthetic leather with carbon-fiber legs.
The new Stand Bag 02 builds on that design philosophy, but with additional nylon textiles and aluminum legs, rather than carbon fiber.
Stand Bag 02 details
The new Takomo Stand Bag 02 fits into the “premium” synthetic leather golf bag category. A couple of things stand out, however. First off, Takomo isn’t calling it “synthetic” leather. Instead, it’s “vegan” leather. In the big picture, it means the same thing.
Additionally, Takomo has added some nice touches, including a magnetic rangefinder pocket, a six-way divider, an insulated cooler pocket and cushioned straps to make the bag easier to carry.
Takomo isn’t listing the bag’s weight on its website, but the company does say it’s designed for walkers. We’ll let you know how burly you have to be once we get one to try.
Additionally, the bag is available in two colors: basic black and off-white.
Perhaps best of all, in true Takomo tradition, Stand Bag 02 retails for $279, making it one of the lowest cost synthetic, er, I mean vegan leather golf bags going.
