How we measure accuracy
Accuracy in the 2026 test is built around two metrics: Straight Shot Percentage (SS%) and Playable Shot Percentage (PS%). Straight shots that land in the fairway are ideal but playable shots that miss the fairway while still leaving a clear approach matter just as much. Three drivers in this top-10 accuracy list, the TaylorMade Qi4D (first overall), Callaway Quantum Max (second) and Callaway Quantum Triple Diamond (third), also finished in the overall top three. They found accuracy without giving up distance or forgiveness. That combination is what separates great all-around drivers from merely straight ones.
#1: LA GOLF Driver — 9.3 Accuracy | 11th Overall
The LA GOLF Driver is the most accurate driver in the entire 2026 test—in its first year of testing. The “Face ID” driver produced ball flight that testers described as “straight as hell” with “best stock driver setup of the year” out-of-the-box playability. On accuracy alone, nothing beats it.
What you give up is distance.
A distance score of 8.2 is the lowest on this list of accurate drivers and well behind the leaders. Testers consistently noted slower ball speeds coming off the face. Its forgiveness score (8.9) is genuinely strong, so it holds up on mishits; it’s just not generating the speed of the top performers.
#2: Callaway Quantum Max — 9.2 Accuracy | 2nd Overall
The Quantum Max is the answer for golfers who don’t want to choose between straight and long. It posted the highest distance score (9.5) of any driver on this accuracy list alongside a 9.2 accuracy score. It earned runner-up in the full 2026 test.
The trade-off, if there is one, is forgiveness. An 8.5 forgiveness score is below average for this group which means off-center shots see more ball speed deviation than the most forgiving options. For golfers with a reasonably consistent swing, that’s unlikely to matter.
#3: PING G440 SFT — 9.2 Accuracy | 18th Overall
The PING G440 SFT ties the Quantum Max for accuracy score but lands 16 spots lower in the overall rankings. The SFT is a draw-bias driver built specifically to correct a slice and keep the ball in play—and it does exactly that. But achieving that flight shape comes at a real distance cost.
A distance score of 8.0 is the lowest on this entire list.
The SFT is doing precisely what it was designed to do. But it’s the most specialized driver on this list and on average about 10 yards shorter in our testing. With the right fitting and shaft for a golfer who slices, the G440 SFT could give you more usable distance.
The bottom line
Chasing accuracy in 2026 doesn’t have to cost you anything as long as you’re choosing the right drivers. The TaylorMade Qi4D, Callaway Quantum Max and Callaway Quantum Triple Diamond all rank in the top 10 for accuracy and the top three overall.
