The most anticipated golf ball launch in 2025 will be the Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x.
Titleist is the number one supplier on the PGA Tour with the Pro V1 offering distance and a firmer feel than the Pro V1x. Both are being overhauled for 2025 and we can expect them to go on sale in February.
Other brands have already launched new balls including PXG’s second new offering and a big update to Taylormade’s popular TP5 range.
These are the best new balls announced at the end of 2024 ready for the 2025 season.
The list does not include launches early in 2024 including the Callaway Chrome Tour, which has helped Xander Schauffele to two major victories this year.
There will be more to come so keep checking back for all of the new golf ball launches for 2025 as they happen.
Titleist 2025 Pro V1 & Pro V1x
Prototypes for the new Titleist 2025 Pro V1 and Pro V1x are being tested with a view to the balls going on sale early in 2025.
The updated Pro V1x plays softer than the 2024 version but keeps the spin, giving it less of a ‘click’ according to early reports.
Titleist launched an ‘Enhanced’ range for the 2024 ball earlier this year but expect a more comprehensive revamp for the new 2025 range.

The PXG Xtreme Tour and PXG Xtreme Tour X
The new balls from PXG are the second launch from the brand and both are aimed at taking on Titleist’s Pro VX1 range as tour-level balls.
The brand has gone for enhanced durability for the new balls.
The Tour is built for range and has lower spin for those who want more distance.
The Tour X offers a firmer feel, more spin and a higher trajectory to improve stopping distance of the ball.
“The launch of our first golf ball was a huge success,” said PXG Founder and CEO Bob Parsons. “Now, we’re taking it to the next level with the introduction of the new PXG Tour and Tour X golf balls.
“With these options, golfers can confidently be fitted for and choose the ball that best fits their playing style and performance goals.”
The balls are available in white and yellow and you can buy them here.
Taylormade TP5 and TP5X Stripe
The Taylormade TP5 and TP5X are not new launches but there are new versions.
Fans of the balls have been asking for a Stripe version and the brand have finally delivered.
The stripes, which look a little like those of a cricket ball or baseball, help to align drives and putts and boost short games by helping greenside control.
The all-new TaylorMade TP5 and TP5X Stripe have a larger alignment section designed to provide additional putting feedback to help you on the greens.
The stripes have been labelled 360° ClearPath Alignment and help to align your shots off the tee and on the greens.
Rory McIlroy opts for the TP5, whose design improves ball speed for golfers seeking increased velocity off the clubface. The balls have low spin for greater distance and excellent control thanks to a slightly softer feel.
