I think it’s fair to say that, until now, most of Sun Day Red’s apparel releases have been uninspired. Look, I’m one of the biggest Tiger fans out there and will root for him no matter what but outside of some polo materials, from a design perspective, I’ve found Sun Day Red extremely underwhelming. With the drop of the new Coral Standard Collection, my opinion has changed.
The Coral Standard Collection’s color scheme is straight out of Miami Vice and elevates Sun Day Red into a really bold and more style-forward direction that we really haven’t seen the brand go since launching in 2024. This is a bold new direction and I’m quite excited to see what’s next.
What’s old is new again
In what can only be described as the Coral Standard Collection’s premier piece, the Legacy Stripe Polo comes directly from the archives, inspired by a 1990 polo worn by a very young Tiger Woods. This polo shirt is 100 percent certified clean. I only wish they released the matching grey shorts.
Sun Day Red’s Coral Collection Legacy Striped Polo
The Legacy Stripe Polo comes in two colorways—cosmic blue and white—and it’s tough to say which looks better. It gets even better, though. In another absolute power move, Tiger and the good folks at SDR decided to drop matching Legacy headcovers. I really wasn’t ready for (or expecting) this amount of heat coming from Sun Day Red but I’m more than happy for it. This collection doesn’t just slap—it is slap.
What to get
From the color and design perspectives, pretty much everything from the Coral Standard Collection is top tier. If you’re looking for some advice on what to buy, I’m a big fan of the Legacy Stripe polo, Legacy headcovers, Icon Rope 5 Panel snapback hat and the Crosswind Contrast polo—the navy collar paired with the teal placket look unbelievable together. As with most Sun Day Red launches, there are also T-shirts and hoodies, too.
If Sun Day Red continues moving in this direction, I’m very excited to see what’s next.
