The Golf Clothing Shopping Hack I Almost Didn’t Want To Share

It’s not exactly a secret that TJ Maxx stores can be a great place to find golf clothes. But you have to be willing to dig.

Sometimes, you find a great brand. Sometimes, you find your size. On a really good day, those two things happen at the same time.

If you don’t love sorting through racks or you don’t have a good TJ Maxx near you, here’s the hack: check the TJ Maxx website.

It’s not perfect. You still have to do some shopping. But once you know how the site works, it’s one of the better places I’ve found to look for discounted golf clothing from real golf brands.

You’re still going to have to shop

This is not the kind of deal where you search “Peter Millar golf polo sale” on Google and then TJ Maxx immediately pops up with everything you need. It does not work like that.

You have to go to the TJ Maxx website and browse.

The good news is that TJ Maxx has made this easier by adding golf sections for men and women. That saves a lot of time compared to trying to sort through every athletic top, polo or skort on the site.

Inventory changes often. The best finds today may not be there tomorrow. If you’re serious about finding golf clothes for less, this is the kind of site you check regularly.

Use the “Reveal Designer” button

Some of the better brands on TJ Maxx online don’t display the brand name right away on the main shopping page. Instead, you’ll see a “Reveal Designer” button.

Click it.

That’s where I’ve seen brands such as Tommy Bahama, PUMA, Under Armour, TravisMathew, Greyson and others. On the women’s side, you may find brands like Peter Millar, G/FORE, Tail, PUMA, Tommy Bahama and Greyson.

It takes an extra click but it’s worth it. If you’re scrolling quickly and ignoring the hidden-brand items, you may be skipping over some of the best golf clothing deals on the site. In addition, if searching for those “hidden brands” doesn’t work, you have to go about this manually and click “Reveal Designer.”

Now, about the sizes

Before this turns into a comment-section complaint: yes, the sizes can be limited.

That’s part of the deal.

You can sort by size first if that makes the search easier. In fact, I’d recommend it if you’re short on time. There’s nothing worse than finding a shirt you’d wear tomorrow only to realize it’s available in one size that is nowhere close to yours.

The more popular sizes tend to disappear quickly. This is one of those sites where finding something good feels a little like winning. But when you do find the right brand, style and size, don’t wait too long.

Final thoughts

At the time I’m writing this, TJ Maxx online had 139 options for men’s golf clothing and not a single one was more than $39.

The women’s golf clothing section was even larger, with more than 500 items from brands including Peter Millar, Tommy Bahama, G/FORE, PUMA, Tail and Greyson.

Will every piece be a winner? No. Will every size be available? Definitely not.

But if you’re trying to add a few golf polos, skorts, pullovers or shorts without paying full pro shop pricing, this is one of the first places I’d check. Just don’t buy everything. Leave a few for me.
