One of the reasons we test drivers and then break them down by swing speed is to fine-tune the results to work for your game. Maybe you know this already, but some drivers perform incredibly well at high speeds, while others struggle. One that surprised us this year? The PXG Black Ops 0311 Tour-1. If your swing speed is over 105 mph, it’s a club you’ll probably want to check out.

PXG Black Ops 0311 Tour-1: Built for speed, not for everyone
You don’t usually hear the word Tour and think forgiving, but that’s exactly what the PXG Black Ops Tour-1 delivers, at least for the right player.
It led all drivers in our 2025 forgiveness testing based on carry consistency, ball speed retention, and dispersion area. That means it produces similar outcomes even on mishits.
But there’s a catch: forgiving doesn’t mean accurate. The Black Ops 0311 Tour-1 was one of the most right-biased drivers in the test. For slower swingers or players who struggle with right misses, it’s probably not the best fit.
Buy This If:
Your swing speed is 105+ mph
You want consistent ball speed and carry distances
You value forgiveness
You’re okay with a slight right bias and plan to get fit for proper shaft/loft pairing
Don’t Buy This If:
You need help with accuracy
You tend to miss right already
You swing under 100 mph
You expect one club to fit all players
PXG Black Ops Tour-1 Performance by Swing Speed
| Swing Speed | Overall Score | Distance | Accuracy | Forgiveness |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| High (>105 mph) | 9.37 | 9.41 | 8.17 | 9.10 |
| Mid (95–105 mph) | 8.9 | 8.3 | 8.2 | 9.3 |
| Low (<95 mph) | 8.1 | 8.0 | 6.5 | 9.0 |
High Speed
If you’re swinging over 105 mph and want consistent results with plenty of distance, the Tour-1 is a top-tier pick. If you have higher swing speeds and tend to get a little wild (especially with a right-sided miss), you may need to fine-tune your fitting session to help with the accuracy.
Mid Speed
For those in the 90 to 105 mph swing speed range the forgiveness in the PXG Black Ops Tour-1 still holds steady. If you are looking for distance and accuracy it’s probably not your best option.
Low Speed
Accuracy took a nosedive in the low swing speed test. While we could very easily generalize and say that’s because of it being a Tour model, we can’t really do that. The best overall driver for low swing speeds in 2025 is the Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond, and the runner-up is the PING G440 LST. As a low swing speed player, the PXG Black Ops 0311 is the better fit.
Final thoughts
The PXG Black Ops 0311 Tour-1 is not for everyone. However, for fast swingers who value reliable launch conditions and don’t mind working through a bit of right-side bias, this driver is one to consider.
As always, we recommend getting professionally fit, even PXG recommends it for these Black Ops drivers.
