The beginning of the golf season is upon us here in the northeast. Regardless of where you are, it’s only the midpoint of March. It’s still cold and the weather is unpredictable. Do yourself a favor and don’t tee it up in shorts when it’s still cold, damp, and windy outside. Make the adult decision and wear pants; you’ll feel better and play better. That being said, as we all know, golf apparel is teetering in outrageous territory when it comes to price, and golf pants are no exception. However, as always, I’m here to help you save some money and look better on the course. In my opinion, these are the best golf pants you can buy for under $65.
1. Quince Performance Stretch Technical Dress Pants

The Quince Performance Stretch Technical Dress Pants are not golf specific and that’s OK because these pants are the definition of versatile. A couple of weeks ago, I mentioned how much I like the VRST East Waist Taper Pants but the Quince Performance Stretch have usurped them by a wide margin. As someone with large quads, I really like the fit of these pants because they cater to athletic builds. That’s not to say that these are only for people with big quads; a tapered trouser looks good on just about everyone. Constructed of high-quality feeling materials that feel great and a good bit of flex, the Quince Performance Stretch Technical Pants are a near-perfect set of pants, period. They can be worn on and off the course with ease.
2. Uniqlo Smart Ankle Pants

From everyday basics to performance golf apparel, Uniqlo makes incredibly solid clothing. The Smart Ankle Pants are of one of Uniqlo’s staples and it’s easy to see why. Once again, especially in proportion to the price, the materials feel very high-quality and look sharp. The fit is very similar to the aforementioned Quince trousers—once again, a taper looks good on just about everyone. It’s important to note that these pants are a bit shorter than what you may be accustomed to (thus the name Smart Ankle Pants) so shop accordingly. Personally, I like to show a bit of ankle. However, if you’d prefer traditional-length pants, give Uniqlo’s Airsense Pants a look.
3. VRST Easy Waist Taper Golf Pant

Just because they’re not No. 1 doesn’t mean the VRST Easy Waist Taper Pants aren’t making the list. As you know, I think very highly of these pants. They’re not my favorite golf pants anymore but they still hold a special place in my heart. It’s important to note that these retail for $88 but they’re on sale for $34. At that price, they’re tough to beat. Since the sale was announced, these things have been flying off the shelves but there are still quite a few colors and sizes in stock at Golf Galaxy. Get them while you can.
