Now, these global golf superstars have teamed up to be part of Boston Common Golf, the city’s newest professional sports team. This extraordinary journey will be captured in a brand new docuseries called ‘unCOMMON: Building a Boston Sports Team’, premiering on December 26, 2024.
The Birth of a New Era in Golf
Presented by NBC Sports Next, the weekly docuseries focuses on the formation and evolution of Boston Common Golf, a tech-savvy team geared towards participating in the upcoming TGL presented by SoFi, which kicks off on January 7, 2025. Viewers will get an inside look at the highs and lows experienced during the process of bringing this new golfing concept to life. From the early days to the first time stepping foot inside the custom-built SoFi Center, nothing will be left off-camera.
Guest Appearances by Boston Sports Legends
Alongside Boston Common Golf, the show will feature cameos from Boston’s favorite sports giants such as David Ortiz of Boston Red Sox, Pro Golfer Brad Faxon, and Cam Neely of Boston Bruins. It’s a unique insight into the city’s sports world like never before.
When asked about the project, the senior vice president of Content Strategy & Creative, NBC Sports Next, Justin Tupper, responded, “We’re thrilled to be working with the Fenway Sports Group team to produce a one-of-a-kind entertainment experience. The aim is to provide viewers with an in-depth look at this innovative and tech-driven approach to golf. We hope everyone will enjoy the journey.”

The five-episode series will be available on multiple platforms. GolfPass members can enjoy the series on its streaming platform operated by NBC Sports Next. The series will also be featured on Peacock’s GolfPass channel and for New England residents (except Fairfield County, Connecticut) on NESN or the NESN 360 streaming app with either a TV provider or direct subscription.
