A frustrated Matt Jones lit up social media when he launched his putter into the water during the third round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational in Florida.
Jones, who has struggled for results since a third-place finish at the PGA Tour event on Maui in early January, was battling well on a windy third round and was only one over through the first 10 holes at the notoriously difficult Bay Hill golf course in Orlando.
At the 11th, the Sydney native had an eight-foot birdie chance to get to even for the day.
He missed it, tapped in for par and threw the putter into the water left of the green.

Jones putted with a wedge for the remaining seven holes and his only blemishes on the card were a double-bogey at the par-4 16th and a bogey at the par-3 17th.
Jones shot 76 to drop to five over and declined to comment about the putter toss after the round.
American Talor Gooch leads the Palmer tournament midway through the third day, picking up a shot to climb to eight under, one shot ahead of Viktor Hovland and former Bay Hill winner Tyrrell Hatton.
It was a tough day for the entire Australian contingent who made the cut at Bay Hill.
Adam Scott (74) and Lucas Herbert were best placed of the Australians at two over for the tournament, with Herbert nearing completion of his third round.
Marc Leishman had given back four shots through 11 holes to sit at three over.
More to come …
