A keen fisherman, Cam Smith was keen to play his golf ball as it lies from the water.
It seems there isn’t a major golf tournament that goes by without Cameron Smith playing at least one ridiculously incredible golf shot.
Does anyone remember Cam Smith’s fairway wood from the bunker at The Masters?
It appears as though he’s done it again with this incredible show from the water during the opening round of the 2024 PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club.
Playing the 7th hole at Valhalla Golf Club (his 16th of the day) Smith found the water to the right of the fairway with his tee shot. A partially submerged golf ball wasn’t enough to deter Smith from playing it as it lies though. As a keen fisherman, Smith doesn’t mind getting his feet wet.
After removing his shoes and socks, and rolling up his pants, Smith appeared to walk on water to play his next shot successfully back out onto the fairway, before going on to make par.
Smith carded a 3-under par 68 opening round, six strokes behind leader Xander Schauffele.
And suppose you need to kill any more time watching highlights from the first round of the 2024 PGA Championship. In that case, we recommend watching this video of hole-outs below which includes Scottie Scheffler’s amazing return to the fairways with a hole-out eagle on the first hole.
