WATCH: Rory McIlroy sinks R10-million putt

Rory McIlroy earned himself an extra R10-million after draining a 29 foot putt on the 72nd hole at the Genesis Invitational on Sunday.

While many expected the in-form Northern Irishman to challenge for the title, it was instead an afternoon of frustration for the World No 2.

His biggest cheer came on the final hole when he denied Kurt Kitayama second place alone at Riviera Country Club. The putt was worth an extra R10-million.

South Africa’s Aldrich Potgieter eagled the opening hole as well as the 11th but couldn’t find anything in between as he signed for a 68 to finish alone in fifth. The week was positive for the young star who banked $840,000.00 for his efforts.
