Scottie Scheffler has had a way of making his shots when it matters in 2024.
Scheffler resumed his domination by winning the storm-delayed RBC Heritage in South Carolina at the weekend, his fourth victory in five attempts.
The world No.1 shot a three-under-par 68 in the final round to finish on 19 under and won by four strokes over fellow American Sahith Theegala.
Inclement weather delayed Sunday’s final round for more than two hours before poor light cut play short.
Scheffler’s game isn’t without what could be labelled errors, but right now he seems to have the fabled momentum that sportspeople talk about so much.
The skit below just shows that Scheffler’s amazing run has become a meme.
Scheffler returned on Monday with a five-shot lead and three holes to play, securing a comfortable victory.
He became the first player to win the RBC Heritage after winning the Masters since Germany’s Bernhard Langer in 1985.
Scheffler is also the first PGA Tour player to win four times in five starts since Tiger Woods in 2007–08.
Scheffler won both the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill and The Players Championship in March.
“I got off to a slow start on Thursday but other than that I played some really nice golf in the middle of the tournament and it’s nice to be done,” said Scheffler.
“I think mentally the last month or so has been as good as I’ve been in a long time and I think that is why I’m seeing some of the results.”
