WE TRIED IT! Callaway Quantum Drivers

I KNOW when every new club is coming out, what technology is being used and any new shafts hitting the market. Manufactures are bringing out most of their new gear this time of the year in line with what goes on tour, so it’s a hugely exciting time for the golf industry.

This is especially so when you see and hear stuff online around what Callaway are doing. For as long as I can remember Callaway produced a new driver each 12-months and here we are again ……Quantum!

Of all the Quantum driver models one in particular caught my attention, the Quantum Triple Diamond! With a slightly smaller head it is the one most likely for me.

My first thoughts were it sits similar to the Ai Smoke. The top start to the crown has the black matte material, leading to the cross stitching on to the top of the club, which looks beautiful behind the ball. Tour-inspired and compact, Quantum Triple Diamond is built for better players seeking lower spin, workability, and a penetrating flight, with a Tri-Force Face, new to Callaway, and next-gen AI face mapping engineered for precise speed and control.

What it does is gives unreal speed and distance, even on off-centre hits, made possible by the breakthrough Tri-Force Face that layers ultra-thin, high-strength Titanium, Poly Mesh, and Carbon Fiber into a fully integrated speed system — a combination never before used in driver face design.

The Quantum range of woods also feature a new generation of Ai-Optimized Face Design. This allows for consistent performance across the entire face, thanks to smarter face flex unlocked by Ai with the ultra-thin, high-strength Titanium, Poly Mesh, and Carbon Fiber working together. Every part of the face is precisely tuned through advanced Ai modelling to optimise speed, spin, launch and accuracy based on real impact patterns.

I also tested the other models in the Quantum range and although they aren’t designed for me, we shouldn’t lose sight of who they are designed for.

Quantum Max: The most versatile option in the lineup and best suited to the largest portion of the fitting bell curve. Quantum Max combines the Tri-Force Face with AI-optimised face mapping and adjustable weighting.

Quantum Max Fast: Specifically engineered for players seeking greater speed through a lighter overall system. The lightweight construction and high-MOI design, combined with a shallower face profile, helps generate increased clubhead speed without requiring extra effort.

Quantum Max D: The Quantum “draw” model features strategic weight positioning that promotes a right-to-left ball flight for players who struggle with a slice.

Callaway have not only kept up with previous models. I found an increase in ball speed, carry and total distance without compromising on height and spin, while something that felt different to previous models and other drivers was the sound and feel. A very distinct Callaway sound and also a feel off the face that felt faster than many drivers on the market.

I started with the Triple Diamond head at 9° however that launch was too low and the spin was extremely low, meaning carrying fairway bunkers, trees and any hazards would be compromising technique to do so. With the Callaway loft sleeve and the moveable weight to fade bias did make optimising this driver very easy. The other noticeable difference was the tight miss hit dispersion. Whilst I felt like I was striking them pretty good I did notice the slightly toe strike, didn’t really compromise the performance. A great feature. You don’t need your best each time for the driver to perform at such I high level!

Final Thoughts

The Quantum range proves once again why Callaway remain at the forefront of driver innovation. The introduction of the Tri-Force Face and next-generation Ai face mapping delivers real, measurable performance gains, not just marketing buzzwords.

For me, the Quantum Triple Diamond stood out, delivering the low-spin, penetrating flight, workability, and compact look I gravitate towards, while still offering improved speed and forgiveness compared to previous models.

Across the entire Quantum lineup, Callaway have ensured there’s a driver suited to every golfer, from elite players to those needing maximum forgiveness or added speed. The gains in ball speed, carry, and total distance, combined with improved sound and feel, make the Quantum one of the strongest driver releases Callaway have produced.

Simply put, they haven’t just kept pace — they’ve set the benchmark again.
