HELLO Golfers! What a year we have had so far and as we move towards the last few months of 2026 golf manufactures haven’t stopped producing new and exciting equipment, And this review is no different.
Our friends at Callaway have introduced a piece of equipment that would be unfamiliar, however I really feel they have bridged the gap between fairway woods, hybrids and longer irons.
Callaway have designed a fairway wood called the Quantum Mini Spinner. This has been designed slightly differently to the traditional fairway wood however it gives consumers the best opportunity to still hit the high launching and soft-landing shots into the greens.
It is slightly different due to a number of reasons, but certainly one that sticks out the most is the length of the fairway woods, which are 0.75” shorter than traditional length.
The next characteristic I noticed was the loft. The range of the woods is purely to replace a long/mid iron or a hybrid and the lofts come in three selections; 7, 9 and 11 wood. These club heads are a fixed hosel without any adjustability and are really in the bag to specifically help us hit those approach shots closer.
Something I noticed straightaway when taking the headcovers off, was the deep face.
Again, because this club is designed to be used on approach shots we don’t always play from the fairway so having the versality with the deeper face can make it easier playing from the rough.

When I was testing the clubs, I really was blown away by the launch conditions. The height on the launch, the land angle and the club’s ability to be played from different lies and different conditions. The other key aspect that I really couldn’t believe was the forgiveness compared to a long iron. I found that if I wasn’t quite finding the middle the launch characteristics weren’t that far off, which is very encouraging.
For me, the Callaway Quantum Mini Spinner is a really interesting addition to the fairway wood category and one that I think will suit a wide range of golfers. The combination of the shorter shaft, higher lofts, deeper face and impressive forgiveness creates a club that is incredibly easy to launch and, more importantly, gives golfers confidence when facing those longer approach shots. If struggling to get the consistency you want from a long iron or hybrid, or simply want something that gives you a little more height and forgiveness without stepping up to a traditional fairway wood, the Quantum Mini Spinner is certainly worth putting on the testing list. Callaway have definitely found an interesting gap in the market with this one, and after my testing, I can see plenty of golfers finding a permanent place for one in their bag.
