We Tried It: Ghost Golf Patrons Only Anyday Bag And Knit Headcovers

The Masters turns 90 this year and, like fine wine, it gets better with age. Let me tell you, so do these limited-edition Masters-inspired releases. I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that Ghost’s Patrons Only Collection was the best Masters release ever and, ever since, I’ve been obsessed with it—specifically the Anyday Bag and knit headcovers. Seriously, ask my wife. I bothered her nonstop about how great they looked and deep down I knew I had to get my hands on one.

To no one’s surprise, they look even better in person. This is, definitively, a golf bag for the ages.

It’s no secret that Ghost is producing some of the most distinctive and highest-quality golf bags on the market. Think of it this way: if Ghost were an apparel brand, it’d be a mix between Malbon and Greyson. Like Malbon, they have the ability and wherewithal to be what I like to call “tastefully loud.” However, on the opposite end of the spectrum, like Greyson, they more than have the ability to create something refined but sporty while still remaining true to their core identity. The Patrons Only Anyday Bag and knit headcovers are prime examples of this.

The knit headcovers are a true throwback to the golden age of golf and the “traditional golf” about which Augusta prides itself.

Functionally, the Patrons Only Anyday Bag is the same as Ghost’s standard Anyday Bag, which was rated our top premium stand bag of 2024. That means you’re getting the same quality and outstanding storage but with even higher attention to detail. That’s saying something. It should be noted that this bag is available only with a 14-club divider but as someone who loathes club tangle, that’s more than all right with me.

Ghost’s attention to detail here is seriously impressive. My absolute favorite parts of this bag are the embossed topographical maps across the side and back pockets which may or may not be based on some of Augusta’s most iconic holes. The fact that they’re deeply embossed adds a ton of visual dimension here—something that is sorely missing from a lot of golf bags nowadays. I should also add that the gold detailing on the maps isn’t screen-printed; it’s embroidered. Again, this adds dimension and, really, in a good way, is Ghost just showing off how high-quality they’re willing to go.

Once again, Ghost’s attention to detail is on full display with the Patrons Only Anyday Bag. The diamond-quilted grid works in excellent contrast to the topographical maps and creates something that looks and feels truly special.

Quality aside, what really stands out about the Patrons Only Anyday Bag is that it’s not a “dead ringer” for Augusta National specifically and that’s where so many of these limited-edition Masters releases go wrong. I said it before and I’ll say it again: the fact that Ghost decided to go with gold as opposed to mustard yellow works extremely well because it elevates the bag, making it feel special as opposed to a facsimile of something you might find in Augusta’s pro shop.

As opposed to being a full-fledged Masters wannabe, the Patrons Only Anyday Bag is its own thing. For as exclusive as the Masters is, Ghost has created something special yet much more accessible. Similarly to an official Masters hat or pullover, if you see someone else with this bag, there will be a brief nod and moment of appreciation because it will be a true case where if you know, you know.

Should you buy it?

At $515, this bag certainly isn’t cheap. However, pictures really don’t do it justice. In-hand, the Patrons Only Anyday Bag is next-level and the price is justified. If you genuinely love the Masters and/or want a top-end golf bag, you should absolutely buy this—you won’t regret it. However, I will say, if you want this bag, you better act quickly. With the Masters nearly a week out, it’s already sold out on Ghost’s official website. It won’t be long until it’s gone altogether.
