OK, most of us are aware of Motocaddy being one of the premier producers in the electric buggy world but not that they had entered the rangefinder game, and in a big way!
This review looks at the Motocaddy Pro5000 Laser Rangefinder and it’s an absolute ripper.
The first thing I noticed after I took it out of the box, which I might add was a really nice feature, was the simplicity, how to use it and straight away you can walk to the first tee and off you go.
The Motocaddy Pro5000 comes with a rechargeable USB-C battery charger, which I prefer to the removable batteries that I always forget to replace. There is absolutely nothing worse than getting to the fifth hole and your laser running out of battery. Therefore well done Motocaddy for providing a USB-C charging port.
The next thing I noticed when putting the laser on my bag was the case and its ability to be attached to the Motocaddy accessories station. In the past I have always just kept the laser in my bag, however this time with my Motocaddy buggy and laser I can attach it will full confidence it won’t fall off. I mentioned the case and again a huge tick to Motocaddy because this case is rock solid and will protect the laser rangefinder really well. Something else I want to draw your attention to is the feel of the laser rangefinder. When I first picked it up it wasn’t too small and too light, it’s a great size to fit in the hand, it’s a nice weight and it allowed me to accurately lock onto my targets in getting a distance.

Onto performance, and the Motocaddy Pro5000 Laser Rangefinder is unreal – I loved its ability to magnify – up to six times – making finding the correct visuals when looking through the lens much easier. The other performance benefit I found was the slope button followed by how the numbers and slope present on the screen. The screen is a crystal-clear OLED display which makes the numbers appear clearly and then the slope, followed by the adjusted numbers, presents brilliantly.
To wrap it all up, Motocaddy have well and truly made a statement with the Pro5000 Laser Rangefinder. This isn’t a brand dipping its toe into a new category, this is Motocaddy arriving with confidence and delivering a product that feels refined, reliable and built for real golfers. From the intuitive “out of the box” experience to the rechargeable USB-C battery, rock-solid case, excellent ergonomics and outstanding on-course performance, everything has been thoughtfully considered. The clarity of the OLED display, ease of target lock, strong magnification and seamless slope functionality make distance control simple and stress free. If you’re already a Motocaddy user, this laser integrates perfectly into your setup, and if you’re not, this alone is reason to take notice. The Pro5000 is practical, premium and performs exactly how you want a top-tier laser to perform.
