Tom Kim avoided being called up to the Korean military by winning the Asian Games, it capped off a great run for the young star.
Kim started the year 149th in the world according to DataGolf.
Since then he has gone on to win the the Scottish Open along with some strong performances (top five at the US Open and ending 15th in the FedExCup).
He was the Internationals best player and jetted off shortly after his Sunday Singles to win the Asian Games. There was plenty on the line as he had to win the strokeplay or team event to ensure he didn’t spend two years doing military service.
The 24-year-old is now inside the world’s top 30 and seemingly ready to make a charge at the top 10.
