What are the 10 most Instagrammable golf courses in Canada?

Canada is one of the most easy-to-photograph countries so it is no surprise that it has some of the most breathtaking golf courses in the world too, offering diverse landscapes, from coastal cliffs to rugged mountain ranges.

Visual appeal has never mattered more since the rise of Instagram and a new study by indoor golf experts IndoorGolfGuide has uncovered the 10 most Instagrammed golf courses in Canada based on the number of Instagram tagged posts that mention each course.

Coming in a number one is the Colt Course at Toronto Golf Club, with 14,780 tagged Instagram posts.

The club is one of the oldest in North America and this course was designed by the great architect Harry Colt in 1912. His superb design, a wonderful backdrop and proximity to Toronto city centre make it popular with users of Instagram.

Number two heads into the mountains with Calgary Golf & Country Club tagged in 8,811 posts. It is Alberta’s oldest private golf club and has beautifully manicured fairways framed by mature trees and water features. It’s a must-share spot.

The Old Course at Wolf Creek Golf Resort ranks third, with 5,616 tagged Instagram posts. Another Alberta track it has a rolling terrain, wide-open spaces and deep bunkers.

The state of British Columbia makes the top five with Tobiano Golf Course (5,149 posts). It is nestled amongst the banks of Kamloops Lake with a desert-like landscape and dramatic changes in elevation provide a striking backdrop against the deep blue lake and surrounding mountains.

And the top five is completed by Glen Abbey GC (4,341) which is arguably the most prestigious course in Canada, having hosted the Canadian Open on more than 30 occasions. Its famous “Valley Holes” which descend into the ravine of Sixteen Mile Creek, offer sweeping views and challenging elevation shifts that are both a thrill to play and stunning to photograph.

Many will be surprised that Banff Springs only ranks eighth. It offers a surreal, nature-immersed golfing experience in the heart of Banff National Park. The fairways meander alongside the Bow River, with the surrounding mountains providing a dramatic, rugged backdrop—ideal for capturing the perfect landscape shot.
