Women’s Golf Finishes Co-Runner-Up at Flyer Invitational

DAYTON, Oh. – Kennesaw State women’s golf turned in their best round of the tournament on Tuesday at the Flyer Invitational to finish tied for second place.

The Owls posted a 49-over par score of 901 (303-300-298) at the NCR Country Club to secure runner up, tied with Western Michigan (901 – 304-305-292) and behind first-place Butler (895 – 295-301-300).

Leading the Owls on the final day was Nyah Kelly, who carded an even-par 71 thanks to four birdies on the back nine. She surged up 18 places on Tuesday to finish the tournament tied for sixth, individually.

The Owls’ top finisher was Jackie Jang, who capped a successful tournament with a 4-over par 75 to finish fifth for the tournament at 10-over.

Right behind her on Tuesday was true freshman Ariana Silva, who carded a three-over par 74 to jump 11 spots to a 22nd finish.

Rounding out the Owls’ top four finishers on Tuesday was Sabrina Kim, who shot 7-over in the third round to finish 17-over (27th) for the tournament.

Alessandra Nagayo carded a 10-over par in the third round to place 35th (21-over), while Natasha Korman shot 11-over to finish 25-over and in 46th place competing as an individual.

Next Tee Time

Kennesaw State will wrap up their fall slate when they head out to the Aloha State for the Rainbow Wahine Invitational in Hawaii on Oct. 20-22.
