World-class golf returns to Aberdeen this August

Golf will once again take centre stage when the Nexo Championship returns to Aberdeenshire later this summer.

The Nexo Championship

A field of home favourites and global stars will tee it up at Trump International Golf Links from August 20-23, for four days of unmissable action on the coast.

Scotland’s own Grant Forrest, who prevailed by four strokes over England’s Joe Dean last year, will return to defend his crown, joined by three-time DP World Tour winner Ewen Ferguson and Aberdeen local David Law.

The trio, in front of their home crowd, will be among those battling it out for the title, as well as crucial Ranking points – the Nexo Championship will conclude the DP World Tour’s Closing Swing, the fifth and final Global Swing on the 2026 Race to Dubai.

The inaugural event will be held on Wednesday August 19, and welcome talent from a range of different sports, including football, tennis, rugby and curling.

Scottish football internationals Gordon StrachanScott BrownCharlie Mulgrew, Jim LeightonJames McArthurSteven Fletcher and John Hewitt have already been announced, alongside renowned tennis coach Judy Murray and seven-time major doubles champion Jamie Murray.

This year’s edition will include an increased prize fund of $3 million, with 3,500 Race to Dubai points on offer.
