Your guide to the 2025 cpkc women’s open

The CPKC Women’s Open is right around the corner and we at Golf Town are thrilled to once again be a key partner of Canada’s National Women’s Open!

It’s set to be an incredible week at the Mississaugua Golf and Country Club, the first time the tournament has been contested in the Greater Toronto Area since 2019.

The LPGA Tour season is inching closer to its conclusion with the Race to the CME Globe heating up and just a few events left on the calendar before the LPGA’s season finale, the CME Group Tour Championship, and the $4-million first-place prize up for grabs.

The CPKC Women’s Open – which was named Tournament of the Year at the LPGA’s year-end award ceremony two years in a row in 2022 and 2023 – is back and bigger than ever, with the return of The Players Tour Truck, Brooke Brigade viewing zones, The Rink hole and a field that rivals any of the major championships.

If you’re planning on heading to Mississauga to take in the action (and cheer on Golf Town Athlete Brooke Henderson!) here is everything you need to know about the event and how Golf Town is always supporting women’s golf.

SOME NOTABLE NAMES

First up, the field!

From top to bottom, the CPKC Women’s Open is looking stout. Of course, there is Brooke – the 2018 champion – looking to make a little noise back in Ontario after two CPKC Women’s Open events out west (in Vancouver in 2023 and Calgary in 2024).

“To have it so close is awesome,” Brooke says. “I’m really looking forward to all the fans and the Brooke Brigade and the crowds out there and all the love and support I feel every single year, regardless of where it is in the country. To have it back in Ontario and pretty close to home is exciting! A lot of family and friends are going to come out and watch.”

World No. 1 Jeeno Thitikul is set to tee it up along with No. 2 Nelly Korda, who is returning to the CPKC Women’s Open field after missing out last year in Calgary during an incredibly busy summertime stretch that included the Olympic Games in Paris.

Three-time champion Lydia Ko is also back in Canada as she looks to win for a record fourth time. Ko is a winner already on the LPGA Tour this season having captured the HSBC Women’s World Championship in March – her 23rd LPGA Tour title.

Newly minted pro and superstar in waiting, Lottie Woad, will be in action as well, looking to continue her amazing summertime of golf. Through July, Woad finished tied for 3rd at the Amundi Evian Championship while still an amateur and then won the very next week in Ireland on the Ladies European Tour (again, as an amateur). Woad then turned professional and won in her first start as a pro at the ISPS Handa Women’s Scottish Open.

Lauren Coughlin is also set to defend her title after winning for the first time on the LPGA Tour last year in Calgary. Coughlin topped Mao Saigo by two shots thanks to a crucial birdie putt on the penultimate hole Sunday. She comes into the CPKC Women’s Open with four top-10 finishes this season.

THE GOLF COURSE

Mississaugua Golf and Country Club will play host to the CPKC Women’s Open for the first time and in the process will make a bit of history. When the first tee shot is hit Thursday, Mississaugua will become just the eighth golf course in the country to have hosted all of the Canadian Men’s Amateur, Canadian Women’s Amateur, RBC Canadian Open, and CPKC Women’s Open.

An elite group indeed!

The latest to join the group was Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club in 2023.

Once again there will be two areas for the Brooke Brigade to cheer on Brooke and Brittany as they compete in the CPKC Women’s Open!

Be on the look-out on holes No. 1 and 15 at Mississaugua where juniors will have a VIP seating area right off the green.

We will also be giving away Brooke Brigade t-shirts to juniors all four days of the tournament!

GOLF TOWN PLAYERS TOUR TRUCK

Back again for 2025 is the Golf Town Tour Truck.

We are thrilled to return for the second year as the Official Player’s Tour Truck of the tournament, located right on the driving range and providing players with any equipment support they may need to play their best golf in the week ahead.

Among the special services that the best players in the world will receive is loft and lie adjustments, re-gripping, shaft installs, club re-builds, and general repairs.

Players will also have an opportunity to check their swing data on the driving range using one of our Foresight launch monitors.

The Tour Truck was so popular in Calgary that we helped over 100 players through the week!

CHEER ON CANADA

There is going to be such a great Canadian contingent of players in the field at Mississaugua as well beyond just Brooke. From 15-year-old Aphrodite Deng (who won the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship earlier this summer) to Alena Sharp, who is competing in her 20th CPKC Women’s Open. The 44-year-old is set to be inducted into the Ontario Golf Hall of Fame as part of small ceremony during tournament week.

There’s no doubt the Canadian crew will get plenty of support!

“It’s hard to put into hard to put into words how meaningful it is,” Brooke says of competing in front of her home-country crowd. “To step on that first tee and knowing you’re representing Canada and throughout the week… On the (scorer’s) sign there is a little maple leaf and for me there is the Olympic rings and the trophy. Having that extra special love always brings a smile to my face. Canada is so supportive, and I love that feeling of being able to represent Canada!”
